Missing Links September 18, 2006
Apologies to any who have looked in vain for our list of free directories over the past couple of weeks. A revised and expanded list is on it’s way shortly, with 1200 directories listed.
Switching to a new links management package has meant a few changes were necessary and one or two pages have been moved and others created. To date I’ve only got good things to say about LinksManager though and their technical support is also extremely good.
We’ve managed to add a couple of dozen good quality links (our directory relates exclusively to computers, networking hardware, technology etc) in the last week with a total time spend of around 4-5 hours. Previously this would have taken much longer and been a far more manual (and frustrating) process.
The charging structure is a little different to the software-package-based model in that you don’t buy and then own the package but rather contribute monthly to an online, browser-based system. Ultimately this will end up costing more of course, but the monthly membership fee is quite modest and so far I can honestly say I think it will be worth it.
