List of Free-to-Submit Directories February 28, 2006

Over the past few months I’ve been compiling a list of 500+ (mainly) free directories, as I’ve come across them in the course of promoting the main website. There’s also a few paid directories and one or two that provide multiple deep links. I’m debating whether or not to post them as another resource page at BlueGoose Systems so please comment if they would be useful for you. In the mean time if you want them right now, email me and I’ll send you the spreadsheet.

I’ve added notes where I …

Weekend - wot weekend? February 26, 2006

Ended up unloading, booking-in and racking all three 5 - 6′ pallets of networking gear that arrived, a little later than expected, more or less singlehanded which was a change to the afternoon/evening I had planned. Dark clouds were threatening to empty their contents though, so speed was of the essence.

There’s now a head-high wall of multi-coloured cardboard boxes snaking around the edge of the corridor and it’s single file only. Some of these will be featuring here over the next few days as clearance items.

Payback Time February 24, 2006

When I checked the main website this morning I was very pleasantly surprised to see that our Google PR had risen to 4. All those hours plugging away submitting to hundreds of directories and optimising for keywords seems to be paying off.

This has been the first time I’ve been involved with the website at this level and I must admit I was totally unprepared for the level of blind faith required when putting in the time on directory submissions and my attempts at SEO. There are absolutely no hard and fast “terms of engagment”. No guarantees regarding if and when …

Increased Sanity February 21, 2006

Slightly more sanity to the day today, so I’ve had a chance to sort out few lines we’ve got marked for clearance (the first few are listed below).

Having spent several weeks and tried several methods to recover data from a fried DiamondMax Plus9 at the end of last year, we’re left with two surplus PCBs. If they’re of any use to anyone trying to recover data, get in touch and I’ll pass on the full spec’s - no need for them so just send a SAE.

Remembering how sickened I was at the thought of …

Hello (and have some free stuff) February 20, 2006

Hi - welcome to our new, semi-regular missive.

I started out with great intentions at 6.00am this morning to walk the dog, get this first “test” post off then get to work early to clear the decks ready for a delivery of networking equipment. Unfortunately, as soon as you check your inbox of course, that’s the day’s plans out of the window and I’m now trying again this evening, having gone off at various tangents throughout the day.

Not too much promotional waffle here - this blog’s really to update interested parties on what we feel to be our best value clearance …
